Learn the art of Nuno felting a wet felting technique. The results of Nuno Felting are just gorgeous.
The Nuno Felting technique involves learning how to construct silk and wool fabric, the building block for all manner of projects from simple scarves to table runners, upholstery fabric and wall hangings.This exciting but simple technique involves applying a very thin layer of silk to merino wool. Using a lamination process with lots of water, a little soap, and gentle agitation, students will create a colorful, multi textured scarf. Create a beautiful art piece to wear!
Please note:
This is a physical process. You must feel comfortable with a rolling pin type of motion that is used to meld the fibers together. You can use your hands or fore arms. The felting is done in 5 minute increments so you can pace yourself. (Any questions please email Dott at [email protected])
Please bring 2 towels (Ages 14+). Space in class is limited.
